"You are my hiding place and my shield; I put my hope in your word." (Psalm 119:114)

The Word of God is our shield and shelter in times of difficulty. It is very important that we nourish our faith through the living Word.

When we stop to listen to God, we stop hearing the world. Unfortunately, the world can fill our minds with fear and confusion. But the Bible speaks of salvation and nourishes our soul with hope.

We must place our hope in God and in His Word. In this way, we will be secure, for all things pass, but the Word of God will never pass.

The Bible is an important tool for spiritual defense. When we dedicate time each day to meditate on the Word, we protect ourselves from threats that may weaken our faith.

Keep your shield ready! Read the Bible.

  • Create the daily habit of reading the Bible. If you find difficulties in starting, try looking for a reading plan. You can also start by reading the Gospels.

  • Try to involve the whole family. Share what you learn and are edified by from the Word with your relatives.

  • Do not treat Bible reading as something ordinary. Read it with expectation in your heart, with the assurance that you will receive something precious from God through His Word.

To pray:

Lord God, I trust in You. Your Word is my shield and protects me from the arrows of the enemy. In You, I place my hope. In Your Word, I find peace and shelter. Amen.
