... but he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Grace is the undeserved favor that God has for us. This goodness provides eternal security to those who believe in Jesus, a security that is wonderful and superior to anything we can imagine. The apostle Paul received this word from God when he prayed three times asking for healing from an illness he called a "thorn or stake in the flesh" (2 Corinthians 12).
"My grace is sufficient for you." That was the answer Paul received from the Father. Perhaps Paul expected to be healed or to recover immediately, but in that case, the greatest miracle was that Paul became aware of God's care for him and the strength He gave him day after day. No matter the way, Christ was present.
Many times, we do not understand the reason for some sufferings in our lives. The reality is that they show us we are weak, that we have limitations, and we depend on the One who created us. When all our personal resources are gone, we trust that the Father’s power will be perfected each day. In the midst of life's tribulations, He renews our strength. Seek the Lord and trust fully in His goodness and mercy.
Comforting grace in the midst of pain
Pray and surrender to God with all your "thorns" and afflictions. He hears you and helps you.
Trust that God's grace and presence are with you right now and wherever you go.
Praise! Despite the affliction, believe that in Jesus Christ there is relief for all suffering.
Read the Bible and make an effort to know God better. His Word will increase your faith and renew your hope.
Do not lose faith! Seek the Lord. Jesus is your strength, and in His presence, there is salvation and victory.
For Prayer:
Lord God, strengthen my faith when I go through struggles, pain, and afflictions. When my strength fails, I know that Your power remains unchanging forever. Affirm my life and sustain me, Father. Embrace me and comfort me when everything is difficult, for I have only You, my Lord and God. Shape my life with Your will and teach me to trust that Your grace is enough for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
